Horse Racing Tips: Check out Monday's best bets across six meetings
We are treated to six horse racing fixtures across the UK & Ireland on Monday and the action begins over the sticks at Newton Abbot at 13:30. There's alternative afternoon action at Ayr and Ffos Las, while there's a trio of fixtures this evening coming from Killarney, Windsor and Wolverhampton. Here at HorseRacing.net we take a look at all today's action and pick out some of the most eye-catching tips from our host of racing writers...
Expert Eye remains at the top of the naps table with a sparkling profit of £50.05 and the red-hot tipster heads to Ayr's six-race card on Monday for the best bet of the day. Looking to pull further clear at the summit, Expert Eye has napped the 9/2 shot Penalty Charge in the 13:50 contest, and the Karl Burke-trained raider is looking to break his maiden tag today. The son of Galileo Gold was last seen finishing seventh at Leicester, but had shown some promise on debut when second at Hamilton, so if he can produce his best today then he could well land the spoils.
Second in the table is Melissa Jones from the Mirror Online, who herself has an eye-catching profit of £35.68 and she heads to Newton Abbot's National Hunt card for her best bet of the day. Jones is backing the Joe Tizzard-trained Helford River, who is currently a 5/1 chance for the 15:10 contest, and the eight-year-old son of Presenting is looking to improve on a mediocre sixth placed finish at Stratford last time out. However, one positive about this charge is that he was a winner last time out at Newton Abbot, so course form should give him a chance in a trappy six-runner race.
Heading to Windsor's evening card, Marlborough of the Daily Telegraph, who is third with a profit of £14.08 is backing the 2/1 chance Eminency in the 17:35 at Windsor, while the fourth placed Garry Owen from the Daily Record (£11.38) heads to Ayr's 15:35 race and is napping the 3/1 chance Belle Of Annandale.
The most popular selection amongst our racing tipsters on Monday runs at Windsor this evening and three tipsters including Jason Heavey from The Star have put up the Charlie Hills-trained Bell Shot as the best bet of the day in the 19:05. A winner at Newbury off a mark of 77 last time out, the Dark Angel colt will attempt to build on that in tonight's 6f event, and at 11/4 looks to stand a terrific chance of bagging back-to-back wins.
William Buick will ride the aforementioned Bell Shot and the world class jockey will be on board another popular selection amongst our tipsters earlier in the evening as Buick rides the Tony Carroll-trained Maybe Tonight, who is currently a 7/4 market leader for the 18:05 race and is the best bet of the likes of Rob Wright from The Times and Newsboy from the Daily Mirror.
Two tipsters head into today's racing attempting to bag a third winning nap on the bounce and Ben Morgan from Racing Ahead is napping the Archie Watson-trained Edgar Linton, who is a 4/1 chance for the 14:50 at Ffos Las, while Dean Kilbryde from the East Anglian Daily Times is napping the Michael Attwater-trained Minhaaj, who is 7/2 for the 18:05 at Windsor.
