Horse Racing Tips: Perth specialist Planted proves popular on Monday

There's a real mixture of Flat and Jumps action across the UK & Ireland on Monday and the early afternoon action will come from Brighton, Perth and Newton Abbot, while the later racing comes from Galway and Newcastle. Mike Smith's Well Planted has already raced at Perth ten times during his career and the six-year-old will feature for the 11th time this afternoon in the 16:15 and the 7/2 shot has proven the most popular nap of the day with three tipsters napping him for today's event. The likes of The North from the Racing Post and Garry Owen from the Daily Record are two of the tipsters to nap Smith's raider, who has won twice at the Scottish racecourse, but he's also notched up a really consistent record at the track, so he has to be well respected this afternoon and looks one of the leading contenders according to the betting.

Horseracing.net says: "Seen competing at Perth on his last three outings, Well Planted was a winner two starts ago off a mark of 111, while he followed that up with a second placed finish off a figure of 116. Beaten a neck that day, Mike Smith's charge has been given another 3lbs rise for that effort and he will feature off 119 here, and while it will be tougher he has shown he loves the track and is in superb form, so could be more than capable of carrying top weight to victory."

Chris Wright from the Liverpool Echo continues to fly high at the top of the racing naps table and he heads into a new week with a profit of £44.73 and he heads to Newcastle's early evening all-weather Flat card for his best bet of the day and he has napped the 2/1 shot Robusto, who goes for glory in the 16:55 contest. The Punt from the Racing Post is in second place (£26.88) and heads across the Irish Sea and to Galway and has picked out a Cheltenham Festival winner as the nap of the day. A winner of the 2023 Plate at Cheltenham in March, Seddon will have a spin over hurdles in the 16:30 contest and is an eye-catching 13/8 with the bookmakers. Farringdon of the Morning Star follows Wright by heading to the north east for the 17:30 race and the tipster, who has a profit of £25.91, has put up the 7/1 chance Zakram, who is on a 15-run losing streak.
