Horse Racing Tips: Head West for Success

Two horses share the honour of being the most tipped today, and with the first Native Angel being priced currently at 1/4 the focus is on the other runner with twelve tips, West To The Bridge for Dan and Harry Skelton up at Carlisle in the 16:37 contest. It is clear to see why this runner is fancied by so many to record back to back victories, as his nine and a half length success at Chepstow just over a month ago was visually very impressive as he made all and quickened away from his rivals.

The visual impression left coupled with the fact that the horse in second that day Bellatrixsa has come out and won twice since and boosted the form means that at odds of a shade over even money at the time of writing, West To The Bridge is seen as one of the day's strongest chances and despite some potentially useful rivals lining up to take him on, many of the press pack are confident he can get the job done once again for the potent Skelton team.

The Naps table has been led for much of the season by Farringdon, however he has not picked either of the most selected Naps as his best bet of the day today. The aforementioned West To The Bridge has been selected four times and is tied for the most popular with a runner in the preceding race at Carlisle, the 16:05. Intriguingly, the horse selected by four Naps competition entrants is not currently favourite for the contest. The runner is Equus Dreamer for the Kim Bailey and David Bass combination.

The last time we saw Equus Dreamer was a couple of months ago in December when he looked a hard ride for David Bass at Bangor, racing lazily and needing plenty of reminders from his pilot as he made his way around to finish an eventual distant fourth. On that run there is not much to be encouraged with, however the fact that cheekpieces are applied for the first time to this chaser and with a recent wind op under his belt, the quartet of Naps competition entrants who have put their faith in him today will be hoping that these two factors will have sprung the once promising looking prospect back into life.
