Horse Racing Tips: Mariner well fancied for Stoute at Redcar
We are counting down the days until the 2023 Betfred Derby, which takes place at 13:30 on Saturday afternoon at Epsom Downs, but we focus on Tuesday's racing across the UK & Ireland in our daily preview. Seven meetings will take place and we pick out some of the most popular and most eye-catching naps from our racing naps table...
Sir Michael Stoute supplemented the exciting Passenger for the Derby yesterday, but the master of Freemason Lodge will attempt to head to Epsom in top form and he will saddle the popular Crystal Mariner in the 15:20 at Redcar on Tuesday afternoon and that contender has proven popular with our tipsters. Three of them - including the likes of Newmarket from the Racing Post - have napped the Sea The Stars colt, who was a winner on the all-weather at Newcastle last time out and will attempt to deliver the goods again on Tuesday, but on this occasion on the turf. A well-fancied 7/4 favourite, Crystal Mariner looks the one to beat in an intriguing novice stakes event.
Staying at Redcar, the Tim Easterby-trained Platinum Girl is another warm order to land victory on Tuesday and the 7/4 chance is another napped by three tipsters, but this time for the 16:20 race. A winner at Wetherby off a mark of 61 last time out, the Ardad filly will have to defy a 4lbs rise this afternoon, but The Punt from the Racing Post fancies the Easterby charge to notch up back-to-back wins in what is another decent contest at the Yorkshire venue.
Leicester will host a Flat card this afternoon and the James Fanshawe-trained Annie Law has been napped by three tipsters for the 15:00 contest and the 9/2 chance has to be respected, while later on in the afternoon the Michael Dods-trained Destined is the final horse to be napped by three tipsters and the 15/8 chance will line up in the 16:30 event.
Sirius from the Sun On Sunday is the form tipster in the naps table having notched up two winning naps on the spin, and the form tipster heads to Lingfield's evening card for the best bet of the day and has napped the 7/1 shot Girl Magic, who runs in the 20:10 race for Alice Haynes and Rowan Scott. Last seen finishing seventh at Musselburgh, the daughter of Havana Grey showed she can deliver when landing a Chelmsford event last year and having been dropped 2lbs by the handicapper she could be a lively player off a mark of 76.
Farringdon from the Morning Star is currently topping the naps table with a profit of £19.60 and that tipster heads to Leicester this afternoon and has put up the 3/1 shot Western Stars, who runs in the 15:30 race, while The Guardian tipster, who sits second in the naps table, has napped the 9/2 chance Barging Thru in the 16:10 at Brighton.
For those looking for a tip Ireland should side with Brian Flanagan from the Irish Daily Star, who has napped the well-fancied 5/4 jolly Arctic Ambition in the 19:30 race at Ballinrobe. Gordon Elliott's runner was a decent winner at Limerick last time out and while has to carry a 7lbs penalty for that success four days ago he looks like he can go in again.
