ITV Racing Tips: Check out Saturday's best bets from Ayr and Newbury
It's a busy day's racing in front of the ITV racing cameras on Saturday afternoon as the action goes north of the border to Ayr racecourse for the Ayr Gold Cup, while there's alternative Flat racing at Newbury with the Mill Reef Stakes being the feature race on the card. We preview all the ITV action here and pick out some of the most eye-catching naps from our host of racing tipsters...
Unsurprisingly, the Ayr Gold Cup at 15:40 has captured the imaginations of many of our tipsters and last year's winner Bielsa will attempt to land back-to-back renewals of the 6f event and Kevin Ryan's charge has proven extremely popular with our tipsters. Four tipsters including current naps table leader Expert Eye have napped Bielsa to strike gold once again, and that classy sprint handicapper has to be a leading contender.
The Charlie Fellowes-trained Vadream was a Group winner earlier in his career, but has struggled to fire in recent times, but the 16/1 shot is well fancied by three of our tipsters to land today's Ayr Gold Cup, and The Sun tipster Templegate has napped Vadream to prevail. Michael Dods will saddle 25/1 outsider Tinto in today's feature race at the Scottish track and that charge is another that has been napped by three tipsters, who fancy the big-priced runner to go close in what is a fascinating renewal.
Khanjar has been hugely progressive this season and is a red-hot 4/1 favourite for today's contest and that William Haggas-trained raider has been napped by Garry Owen from the Daily Record, who sits second in the naps table with a profit of £49.33 and will be looking to catch Expert Eye at the top of the table.
The action in front of the ITV screens will begin at Ayr at 13:20 and Richard Spencer's Revich, who finished down the field at Ayr earlier in the week will make a quick reappearance of top weight in today's opener, and that charge has been napped by two tipsters for the contest, while the Ayr Silver Cup is off at 14:30 and the likes of Vintage Clarets and Snash have been napped by Glendale from the Scotsman and Fortunatus from the Sheffield Star.
Roger Varian bagged St Leger glory at Doncaster last weekend and the Classic-winning trainer will bid for more Group success on Saturday and he saddles the red-hot favourite Sakheer in the Mill Reef Stakes at Newbury at 14:50, and that 10/11 favourite has been napped by Steve Mullington from 888Sport.
The 5f Dubai World Trophy is a fascinating renewal at 14:15 and Andrew Bladen from the Wolverhampton Express & Star fancies the last-time-out winner Manaccan to strike gold at 7/2, while later on in the afternoon the Charlie Appleby-trained Warren Point is a warm 11/4 favourite for the 15:25 contest and that Godolphin raider has been napped by the myracing tipsters, who hopes the colt continues his progression.
However, that race has proven extremely popular with our racing tipsters as Rockavon from the Sunday Mail is taking on Warren Point with 11/2 chance Hamaki, while Farringdon from the Morning Star is taking a real chance on 25/1 outsider Pistoletto, who has a lot to find, but does have some smart form on the book.
