Gortroe Joe - 13:00 Ludlow

There's a trappy betting heat at 13:00 at Ludlow with four of the five contenders close to each other in the market, but it's the Fergal O'Brien-trained Gortroe Joe that can deliver that knockout blow and land victory. A winner off a mark of 128 a couple of years ago, the nine-year-old lines up off a 2lb higher mark, and looks dangerous. He has tasted success over hurdles in recent times, and put up a decent effort when third off a mark of 133 last time out, and with a 3lb drop sure to aid his chances, then he can bag the win on Wednesday.

The Bees Knees - 13:30 Ludlow

It could prove to be a profitable day for the O'Brien yard as they can notch up more success half an hour later with The Bees Knees, who can bound to glory in the 13:30 race. The progressive six-year-old was an eye-catching winner off a mark of 118 at Musselburgh three starts ago, and has since performed with credit off his new mark of 128. Fourth at Cheltenham on his last start in December, The Bees Knees should find today's assignment a little easier, and he can strike gold once again.

Ballymoy - 14:00 Ludlow

Yet to finish out of the first three in his six chase starts, Ballymoy notched up a taking win at Catterick in a novice chase earlier this month, and now lining up in handicap company the Nigel Twiston-Davies-trained raider can notch up back to back wins. The eight-year-old will have the burden of top weight, but having won by 18 lengths last time out, then he shaped like there's lot more to come over fences, and he can strike gold in the 14:00.
