Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Odds
The Juvenile Turf was inaugurated in 2007 in the first year the Breeders’ Cup expanded to its current two-day format. The race is a Grade 1 event for 2-year-olds run at one mile on turf and carries a purse of $1 million. Five Breeders’ Cup Challenge races offer an all-expenses paid trip to the Juvenile Turf: the Group 2 Juvenile Stakes at Leopardstown, the Grade 1 Summer at Woodbine, the Group 2 Royal Lodge at Newmarket, the Group 1 Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere at Longchamp and the Grade 3 Bourbon at Keeneland. Unlike its sister race, the Juvenile Fillies Turf, which has been more favorable to domestic runners, the Juvenile Turf has been dominated by European-based horses, with Euro shippers winning 9 of its 13 editions. Notable winners of the race include Oscar Performance and Mendelssohn.
