The track in Wilmington, Delaware is ready to start its 85th Season of racing ... Boasting both a dirt and a turf surface, the track is an integral part of the region. With a strong trainer bunch that includes leading conditioner, Jamie Ness, and a jockey colony with the likes of Jaime Rodriguez, Carol Cedeno, and Daniel Centeno. Should be a ton of fun!

At we have you covered, including all of the action! It is a good time for some of the best that North American racing has to offer. Stay tuned! Horse Racing Picks

Most Likely Winner: (Race 4: Sister Supream #2, 8/5):

The Gorham Barn claimed this daughter of Cross Traffic back in late March. She graduated into some tougher open company at Laurel Park, and her conditioner then tilted against OC62.5kn1x Co. on May 1. Dropping into an easier spot like this one makes much more sense, and she looks poised to take a step forward against a group that doesn’t look too formidable. Regular rider, Yan Aviles, hops back aboard …

Wagering Recommendation: $100 Win, #2

Off-the-Pace Play of the Day: (Race 3: My Man Pots N Pans #1, 5/1):

I do not happen to think that this gelding by Justin Philip, trained by Kelly Rubley, is going to be 5/1 when this field is loading in the gate. Maybe he will get overlooked … What we do know is that his conditioner is running him back on 2 weeks rest. That shows confidence in his charge’s ability, and since Carol Cedeno was just 2nd over at Pimlico, one is inclined to think that her mount should be pretty game. Tote watch time … anything above 4/1 is an overlay.

Wagering Recommendation: $100 Bankroll, Graduated Wager WPS #1 ($10-W, $15-P, $75-S)

Spotlight Race of the Day: (Race 6: Dirt, 1 Mile, St.ALLW50knc, 3+):

Out of these 8 races on this Opening Day card, I particularly like the look of No. 6. I am sure Kent Sweezey’s Phat Man #3 will take money, especially considering the 8-yr-old’s penchant for taking on much tougher company. He was up against Firenze Fire, Code of Honor, and Captain Bombastic over the past year. With only 1 race under his saddle this year (on the turf at Gulfstream Park in the G3 Tropical Turf), this might be the perfect opportunity to try and take a stand against him. In this race, I actually like the Jimmy Toner entry, Commandeer #1. Even though this 4-yr-old is by Street Boss, which is a producer of sprinters, I think the gelding has experience going around 2-turns. Bred by Godolphin, Toner has him dropping in from running against tough company in the Ghostzapper (G3) at Gulfstream Park. Even though that was not a stellar performance, that doesn’t mean he cannot strike hard in this race. Toner pairs with regular man Victor Carrasco, who is riding during the shortened PIM Meet quite well. If you could get 8/1, then that would be considered a superb price.  Looking for a few other runners to fill out an exotic ticket, I do like the look of Cathal Lynch’s American Patrol #2, and also Mike Gorham’s Borracho #7. These are some classy runners, and will be handy in a 1-mile contest. The latter is going to be a pace setter for sure. This should be a solid betting race on the Wednesday card, as DP gets the engines rolling. Enjoy the Meet …

Wagering Recommendation: $2 Trifecta Wheel, 1 w 2/3/7 w 2/3/7

Enjoy the day at historic Delaware Park! Best of luck on another run at their Summer Meet!
