The Road to the Kentucky Derby flows through three tracks this Saturday afternoon with Santa Anita Park being one of them hosting the Grade II San Felipe. Check out our Picks and our Full Race Card below and bet with our partners at BetAmerica, TVG and TwinSpires...

Race 6: Dirt, 1 1/16th, San Felipe Stakes (G2), $300k, 3

It is going to a great day Thoroughbred fans! Look at this scenic highway that we have before us! There is a bit of everything, but what is for sure is that if we can get some long shots home, the payouts could huge!

This race, the San Felipe (G2) feels like a feature, since Bob Baffert has 2 really strong Derby Trail colts going out for him. Life Is Good #1 appears to be his No.1, and with Mike Smith riding, is one of the top picks in the country to win at Churchill Downs in May. This is his big moment, and if he answers the call, there is no doubt his favorite status will go stratospheric. To do that though he is not only going to have to best Medina Spirit #3, his stablemate, but also some other players who possess major potential.

I consider Doug O’Neill’s The Great One #5 as a true party crasher. If you think he ends up 4/1 or higher and can work out the right trip (depending how the track is playing), he is a win bet. Beating the Bafferts will not be easy, but to my eye, going 3-deep is the play here. I like Roman Centurian # 7 after he took on Medina Spirit #3 in the Bob Lewis (G3), but I think he is going to have too much to do in this spot.

The pace up front is going to be blistering… Bafferts to the lead… O’Neill’s rates 2-off… blanket finish!

Selection: The Great One #5, $100 Win
