Meeting: Wyoming Downs holds a live racing meet from early July to mid-August. The meet features both thoroughbred and quarter horse action and a bevy of stakes races, though none exceed $10,000 in purse money.
History: Wyoming Downs is located just off Highway 89 North, which is near the Utah border and just outside of the town of Evanston, Wyoming. Eric Nelson repurchased the track at auction in 2011, committed to reviving horse racing in the state. After a thorough refurbishing of the idled venue, his goal was realized in 2014. Also that year, the track added historic horse racing terminals, on which patrons can place bets on historic races. Wyoming Downs is the largest and only privately owned track in Wyoming.
Facilities: In addition to live racing, Wyoming Downs offers historic horse racing terminals on which wagers can be placed, and also hosts an annual horse sale which was started in 2018.
