Euro Audarya Gets Up for the Turf Win for Fillies & Mares

What a field of 14 runners! Rushing Fall was a "deserving favorite" (5-2 odds) in what was her final start in the Filly & Mare Turf. Chad Brown and Javier Castellano teamed once again to in a route race to try and score another win for this strong turf barn. Rushing Fall was not the lone representative, as Brown also sent out My Sister Nat, Nay Lady Nay, and the 2018 former winner of this race, Sistercharlie.
In a surprising twist, Jessica Harrington's Cayenne Pepper (10-1) broke alertly from the 14 Post and seized the lead under Shane Foley. She could not hold it, as a number of runners, including Rushing Fall, vied supremacy at the top of the stretch. The French horse, Audarya (FR) at 17-1, guided by the experienced Pierre Boudot, sprung through into the 3-path, just besting Brown's favorite, Rushing Fall. She set a track record for the 3rd race in a row at the Breeders' Cup!
This daughter of super sire, Wootton Bassett, who ran a game 3rd at Longchamp just this past month in the Prix de l'Opera Longines (G1). Trainer James Fanshawe nabbed Boudot when his regular rider could not pass a COVID test. Clearly, it was a great move, as Boudot was masterful in the win, rewarding bettors with a win score of $37.60.
