About the Anniversary 4 Year Old Hurdle?
The Grade 1 Anniversart 4 Year Old Hurdle race at Aintree is open to those horses aged four, and the best of the division regularly heads to Liverpool.
Run over about just shy of two miles and a furlong (two miles and 209 yards) on the Mildmay Course, the race was originally a Grade 2 contest, before being upgraded to Grade 1 status in 2005.
The winner of the Triumph Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival regularly runs here, and the most recent horse to complete the double was Pentland Hills, doing so in 2019 for Nicky Henderson.
Hot favourite Zenta was a narrow winner of the 2023 renewal, as the Willie Mullins-trained raider got the better of Bo Zenith in a thrilling finish.
