The Queen Alexandra Stakes is a conditions race run over a distance of two miles, five furlongs and 143 yards and is the longest race of the entire Royal Ascot meeting.
First run in 1864, the Queen Alexandra Stakes has become a prestigious Flat marathon that sees some of the finest stayers in training line up to battle it out for glory. Not only do Flat specialists line up, but National Hunt horses are often seen taking their chance and they have been known to be victorious. Being the final race of the meeting then it's a hugely competitive contest with everyone trying to bag a winner.
