Epsom Derby & Epsom Oaks entries released

Ed Walker's English King is among 17 horses entered for the 2020 Epsom Derby on Saturday, while the Aidan O'Brien-trained Love tops a list of 11 fillies entered for the Epsom Oaks, which will be run on the same spine-tingling card at Epsom Downs...
For the first time in history the Epsom Derby and Epsom Oaks will run side-by-side on the same afternoon, and both Group 1 classics have attracted a stellar list of entries for what shall be a momentous day in Flat racing folklore.
English King propelled to the head of the Derby betting when sauntering to success in the Lingfield Derby Trial, and the son of former Derby hero Camelot will look to emulate 2019 Derby winner Anthony Van Dyck, who claimed victory in the Lingfield Derby Trial before going on to reign supreme in the Derby.
Andrew Balding's Kameko was a sensational winner of the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket at the start of June, and will also be aiming to emulate the aforementioned Camelot, who in 2012 claimed victory in the Guineas before going on to Derby success.
Aidan O'Brien, who has tasted victory in the Epsom Derby on seven previous occasions, will unleash a strong team of colts with Russian Emperor, Vatican City and Mogul just an eye-catching triumvirate of the seven-strong Ballydoyle string. Having saddled Santiago to Irish Derby glory at the weekend, O'Brien will attempt to retain the crown he won with Anthony Van Dyck last season, and he is sure to have a significant say in proceedings.
Shock King Edward VII Stakes winner Pyledriver - who beat Mogul in that Royal Ascot event - has been entered for the showpiece event of the British Flat racing campaign, while Highland Chief and Mohican Heights are another brace of notable entries.
Kameko runs out of his shell!
An incredible victory in the QIPCO 2000 Guineas Stakes driven home by Champion Jockey @oismurphy for Andrew Balding who believes he is 'The best we've had at Kingsclere for many a year'. https://t.co/u5PQ1hfklY
Earlier in the afternoon the 2020 Epsom Oaks will see the star three-year-old fillies take their chance of claiming Classic glory and it's Love, who was a superb winner of the 1000 Guineas, that aims to claim more Group 1 classic glory on Saturday. Trained by Aidan O'Brien, Love will look to emulate a former O'Brien inmate in Minding, who claimed both 1000 Guineas and Oaks glory in the 2016 campaign, and Love shaped like a step up in trip should see her improve further.
She will face some top notch adversaries at the weekend and John Gosden's Frankly Darling was a hugely impressive winner of the Ribblesdale Stakes at Royal Ascot earlier this month, and will look to step up into Group 1 company and deliver the goods once again. Gosden trained Anapurna to victory in the Oaks 12 months ago, and Frankly Darling sit prominently in a fascinating betting market.
O'Brien will hold a strong hand in the Oaks as he will also unleash Peaceful, who was a fine two-length winner of the Irish 1000 Guineas, while Ennistymon and Passion will add more strength to the O'Brien charge at the fillies' classic, but they were well beaten by Frankly Darling in the Ribblesdale, so have form to turn around. Gold Wand, Dubai Love and Queen Daenerys are another notable trio of entries.
❤️ Love conquered all at Newmarket as Ryan Moore triumphed to a fourth 1000 Guineas success beating strong favourite Quadrilateral 👏
