What is the Silviniaco Conti Chase?
The Silviniaco Conti Chase is a Grade 2 race run at Kempton in January and is run over a distance of two miles, four furlongs, and 110 yards, and named after the dual winner of the King George VI Chase and upgraded to Grade 2 status in 2020.
Open to horses aged five years or older, the Silviniaco Conti Chase is one of the newest races on the National Hunt calendar, as its inaugural running took place in 2016. Still in its infancy, the Silviniaco Conti Chase was first won in 2016 by Nicky Henderson's former Hennessy Gold Cup hero Triolo D'Alene, while former Ryanair Chase hero Frodon won the 2020 renewal impressively, and the roll of honour is sure to blossom over the coming years.
