Racing Tips Today - 14th April 2026
Tuesday’s card has a very different feel to the start of the week, with Newmarket taking centre stage as the Craven meeting gets under way and offering the first proper wave of Flat intrigue ahead of the Classics. There is jumping action too at Market Rasen and Newton Abbot, while Lingfield keeps the evening programme ticking over and Clonmel adds an Irish angle. We’ve rounded up the current NAPs table leaders, the headline newspaper picks and two fresh talking points from around the sport.

Today’s NAPs Table – Top 3
The live NAPs leaderboard is split between Newmarket and Market Rasen today, with the opening afternoon races already dominating the table. Shadow King leads the way for racing-daily.com in the 1.50 at Newmarket, while Andrew Mount and Whistler both head to Market Rasen with Giovanni Change and Lord Chamberlain. It gives punters a tight cluster of early races to focus on if they are following the strongest names on the board.

Templegate & Other Big Name NAPs
The newspaper tipsters are heavily drawn towards the better Flat fare at Newmarket and the evening action at Lingfield, rather than spreading themselves all over the jumps cards. Templegate’s main fancy comes in the 4.10 at HQ, Robin Goodfellow also sides with a Newmarket handicapper, and Newsboy looks to the all-weather at Lingfield for his best bet. If you want three quick names from the national-paper ranks, these are the headline picks to note.
- Templegate - Major Neigh Sayer, Newmarket 16:10
- Robin Goodfellow - Hardy’s Hero, Newmarket 15:00
- Newsboy - Profit Street, Lingfield 19:30

Racing News Round-Up
- Newmarket returns to the spotlight today with the Craven meeting beginning on the Rowley Mile, and that always gives the week a sharper edge. It is one of the first major Flat fixtures of the spring and the sort of card that can throw up horses for the Guineas and beyond, so there is more than the usual mid-April interest around the action at headquarters.
- Constitution Hill is all set for his biggest test on the level in the John Porter at Newbury, which takes place this Saturday and will no doubt attract plenty more eyeballs than at any time in the Group 3's history.
