Chris goes in search for a winning tip at Newcastle tonight
Yesterday’s selection drifted in the betting from 5/2 (advised) out to 5/1 (SP), so it was no surprise to see him finish fourth. Despite making some late headway, he never seemed to travel or jump with any real fluency and may just have needed the run. For those that use a horse tracker, Geordie B may be worth adding in as he could prove difficult to beat under similar conditions next time out (three miles on testing ground).
LITTLE JO (NAP at 3/1) has produced impressive form figures of 12111310 since joining trainer Brian Ellison. Four of his five victories came last season, including his second career success over this course and distance. He was beaten by just a head here on his only other visit, so he clearly likes the Tapeta surface and straight mile. His defeat last time out came on his belated seasonal reappearance in the extremely competitive Cambridgeshire handicap at Newmarket. He was ultimately well beaten that day but weakened inside the final two furlongs, suggesting that he was in need of the run. He should be much sharper today, drops down in class and is reunited with jockey Ben Robinson.
