Having tipped up his fourth winning Nap on the bounce at Southwell yesterday afternoon, Chris Baker aims to kickstart the week with another winner on the all-weather...
Today is the first day in my new role as Headteacher. What could possibly go wrong? I’m set for a very busy day indeed, but I should be able to get home in time to watch the 17:45 sprint handicap at Wolverhampton.
Yesterday’s 4/1 winner, Liamba, made it six winning NAPs from the last eight and four in a row. I’m hoping to extend that sequence today and continue my good start to 2020. Good luck if you decide to follow.
Trainer Tony Carroll has sent out four winners already this year and looks to have a good chance of adding to that tally with his five-year-old sprinter EESHA SAYS (NAP at 5/2). This lightly-raced mare comes here in good form having recorded recent figures of 132. Those runs have all come at Southwell, but there’s no reason why she shouldn’t’ be able to transfer her form on to the Tapeta surface at Wolverhampton races. She was only beaten by a neck last time out and will be up against a host of exposed, out of form rivals with low career strike-rates. As a prominent racer, she’s well drawn in stall five, and her jockey Elisha Whittington, who has been aboard the last twice, claims 7lbs.
