With Storm Brendan causing havoc across the UK, claiming this afternoon's meeting at Plumpton, my attention today once again turns to the All-Weather action at Wolverhampton - after my other selection at Southwell was a non-runner.
Good luck if you decide to follow my two selections.
Reasoned was an impressive winner over this course and distance last time out (advised here), but the combination of a 7lb rise in the weights and a step up in class means that I’m opposing her today in favour of another in-form runner CHOOKIE DUNEDIN (4/1). The selection has won on two of his three visits to Wolverhampton, including over this trip last time out. He’s likely to stay on strongly from off the pace and is still well-handicapped based on his Class 4 victory at Chelmsford less than two years ago (14:30).
The ex Hamdan Al Maktoum-owned filly ATWAAR (9/1) can gain a third career victory when dropping down to selling company at 15:00. This four-year-old daughter of Slade Power comes in to the race in good form having won two of her last four starts. She finished a close second at Southwell last month despite being struck in to on her left hind, and she was a beaten favourite there last time out after being slow away. This is a field very low on quality, so there’s every chance that Faye McManoman’s mount can bounce back.
