Chris has one selection at Lingfield this afternoon.
Yesterday’s selection, Cudgel, was sent off as the 3/1 favourite having been advised at 7/1 in the morning. He ran well under a patient ride and I’m sure he’d have made it harder for the winner had he not made a mistake three out when poised to challenge. It was a good run on just his second start over fences and he’s sure to win a similar race soon.
It’s back to Lingfield races for just one bet today. Good luck if you decide to follow.
MUSIC MAJOR (NAP at 7/1) was winning for the fifth time at Lingfield when tipped up here eight days ago, and I fancy his chances of adding to that tally in the ten-furlong handicap at 14:55. His latest win came in good style and built on a solid second-place finish over this course and distance last month. He therefore comes in to today’s contest in really good form and should be capable of defying the 4lb penalty, especially as he’s won off a higher mark on three previous occasions. Jockey Ben Curtis – fresh from a treble at Newcastle yesterday – takes the ride for the first time.
