The King George Stakes is a Group 2 contest and the headline race of the fourth day of Glorious Goodwood, held over the minimum trip of five furlongs. It is heralded as one of the fastest five furlongs around, due to Goodwood's predominantly downhill sprint track. The race has been dominated in recent years by the star sprinter Battaash, who has won each of the last three renewals.
