The Mares' Hurdle has only been run at the Cheltenham Festival since 2008, but it has been won by some of the starlets of the turf with the likes of Quevega, Apple's Jade and Honeysuckle all claiming victory in the event, and the latter of that trio will be back for another crack at the event in 2023. A winner of the 2020 Mares' Hurdle, Honeysuckle returned to Cheltenham in 2021 and 2022 and claimed victory in the Champion Hurdle, but the possibly regressive mare will line up here bidding for a fourth festival win in a row.

In a hugely competitive renewal of the Mares' Hurdle, which is off at 16:10 on Tuesday afternoon, the most tipped runner is the reigning champion Marie's Rock, who is looking emulate the mighty Quevega by winning back-to-back renewals of this prize. With multiple Cheltenham Festival winners lining up here the Mares' Hurdle is a tremendous renewal and all eyes will be Honeysuckle as she looks to win at a fourth festival on the bounce. However, the reigning Champion Hurdle winner has failed to sparkle with her usual pizzazz this term and she could be worth taking on. Epatante is another former Champion Hurdle queen, but she's been well beaten by Constititution Hill this season and is another on a potential downward spiral.
So, it's the reigning Mares' Hurdle champion Marie's Rock that looks the best bet in this 16:10 event on Tuesday as she was a fabulous winner of this race 12 months ago, and she showed when winning the Relkeel Hurdle at Cheltenham on her return to the track that she's a top class mare and she can storm to glory here.
