Horse Racing Tips: House to Wynn at Ayr
Six tracks across Great Britain and Ireland are set to host horse racing action today, with the first race of the day coming from Leicester's jumps card at 13:00. There will be something for racing fans to enjoy every few minutes with early afternoon racing from Leicester, Ayr and Newbury before cards at Southwell, Wexford and Dundalk begin later in the day. The racing runs all the way through until the concluding race of the day over at Dundalk at 20:20. We preview all today's racing and zone in on some of the more eye-catching tips from the racing tipsters featured on site...
There are four national press tipsters hat-trick hunting when it comes to their daily best bets, with RP Ratings, The Scout from the Express, Jeffrey Ross of Western Morning News and Jon Freeman representing The I. Their tips range from a more conservative 6/5 chance in CITY CHIEF at 6/5, a leading chance in the 13:45 at Ayr for Nicky Henderson and James Bowen, to AURORA THUNDER in the 16:05 contest at the same track who can be backed at 15//2 at the time of writing.
It is the choice of Freeman in WYNN HOUSE in that very same contest we are focusing on here. The runner represents the Arkle winning combination of Alan King and Tom Cannon, and the mare has won three hurdle races and a NH flat race from 2m to 2m 5f on good ground. She trailed in third on soft ground last time out over 3m at Newbury but with the ground at Ayr looking more good than good to soft, she has conditions to suit and can be expected to give a bold showing.
The Spotlight tip of the day also comes from Ayr and is the once seriously promising looking hurdler now rebuilding his career over fences for the Skelton team BEAKSTOWN. This was often quoted as being the most talented runner in the Skelton yard and it was well documented they thought they had an absolute top-notcher when in his novice hurdling season he came into the Ballymore at Cheltenham of 2019 off the back of two wins and a head second in the 18/19 season. He unfortunately met trouble when trying to chase home eventual winner City Island that day and had a lengthy lay-off of 606 days before finally reappearing on the track in third behind Linely King at Aintree in November 2021 for his chase debut.
Since then he has been kept fairly busy and there have been some encouraging signs in his efforts despite not being able to get his head in front and shed the maiden tag over fences. He looks to face an easier task today up in Scotland and he was two from two over hurdles on good ground so he is well fancied to win again for the first time in 1,175 days. The biggest price Nap of the day is HIPPO who is set to run in the 14:45 at Leicester and is currently available to back at 40/1, while the most napped gong is shared by three runners in PANGLOSS (18:05 Southwell), YOUR OWN STORY (17:15 Ayr) and ANNSAM (15:40 Newbury).
