On a day that revolves around Gowran Park and the Thyestes Chase, there are a total of five tracks hosting action. The feature race of the day begins at 14:50, but the first race of the day comes from Southwell at 11:25. The final contest is the 19:15 in Newcastle, and plenty of horses have received the vote as the Nap today so here we will attempt to guide you toward some of the more interesting runners, along with providing you with an intriguing stat to monitor and the racing news you need...
Thursday's Most Popular Naps
There is a wide spread of Naps today, with Huntingdon, Wetherby and Southwell all represented. A total of five horses have been selected by three or more experts, with the high quality Winter Derby at 13:00 from Southwell seeing experts split between MILITARY ORDER and THE FOXES. It is quite the fall from grace for both who were fancied for the 2023 Epsom Derby, and the former has in fact been gelded. Perhaps this will do the trick and means he is the one to side with.
At 12:50 at Hungtingdon, another horse with three votes behind him is KANSAS CITY STAR, who runs for the burgeoning combination of Harry Derham and Paul O'Brien. After 90 days off and a stable switch, watching the market will be crucial here as the trainer does brilliantly with stable switchers. WHITE RHINO is another Huntingdon favourite with three votes as the best bet of the day, running in the 15:45 race.for Oliver Greenall & Josh Guerriero. He looks on an upward curve after a brilliant win at Cheltenham last time out and this looks the perfect next step in his career.
Finally, one horse from Wetherby has also garnered the support of three experts as the best bet of the day, LINGFIELD LYN for Tom Gretton in the 15:35 contest. This mare's only handicap looks eminently winnable and although Lingfield Lyn did not jump well last time out, she still finished her race off well so if she has scrubbed up her jumping should take all the beating.
Follow The Leaders
It was another successful day yesterday for runaway Naps table leader Spotlight as their best bet Barrel Aged cruised home at Kempton. After The Bell Conductor won for the outfit on Tuesday they are on a hat-trick today and look to have found a rock solid chance in Gavin Cromwell's Irish raider BRIDES HILL in the Huntingdon 15:10. Cromwell has a mean record sending his horses across the water this year and although she is odds-on at the time of writing, Brides Hill looks the class act in here. Keith Donoghue comes over for the ride and the mare really should make it four wins on the spin for herself and three for the Spotlight Nap
The Punt is siding with THE FOXES in the Winter Derby at Southwell to get the better of Military Order and co, at a reasonable price too. The horse is clearly talented but comes here off a long lay-off and the drift already in the betting on Andrew Balding's colt should concern punters a touch. Finally, The Irish Sun fancy DUNBOYNE in the Thyestes at Gowran Park at 14:50 to claim glory for Jack Kennedy and Gordon Elliott. The horse was just touched off in the race last year by Carefully Selected, but is back for another go at a test he thoroughly enjoys. He makes plenty of each-way appeal.
- Spotlight - Brides Hill - 15:10 Huntingdon - P&L: £24.51
- The Punt - The Foxes - 13:00 Southwell - P&:L: £11.87
- The Irish Sun - Dunboyne - 14:50 Gowran Park - P&L: £10.98

Racing News Round-Up
- Controversial Plans To Limit Handicap Runners Scrapped - A proposal to limit trainers' participants in big handicaps to four that due derision from some quarters in racing has been scrapped - for now - by the BHA.
- Curtis Back With A Bang - It had been a long time between drinks for trainer Rebecca Curtis, with three months passing by with zero winners. She stopped the rot in some style yesterday with a 509/1 Chepstow double!
- Blue Rose Cen Switches Stable - Star French mare Blue Rose Cen will represent a new yard next season as she leaves Christopher Head to go to fellow Chantilly trainer Maurizio Guarnieri.
