Horse Racing Tips: Boy to strike in Sandown Listed event on Wednesday
Having bagged two winners in yesterday's column we now focus our attentions on Wednesday's action and there are five meetings in the UK & Ireland with the racing kicking off at Beverley at 13:42. Sandown, Sligo, Yarmouth and Kelso provide the alternative racing with the latter concluding the day with the last race at 18:45. We preview all the action here and pick out some of the best bets from a host of racing tipsters...
Roger Varian's Bayside Boy has failed to sparkle at times this year as the former Group 2 winner of the Champagne Stakes at Doncaster has failed to get his head in front since that win on Town Moor, but he has a great chance of breaking his duck for the season this afternoon in the Listed Fortune Stakes at Sandown at 15:35. Proving very popular with our tipsters the Varian charge has been napped by five tipsters including the likes of Templegate from The Sun and Jon Freeman from The i, and the New Bay colt, who was last seen finishing down the field in Group 3 company is an 11/8 chance to land victory today.
There are some popular runners heading to Yarmouth today and the Listed John Musker Fillies' Stakes at 15:20 looks an absolutely cracking renewal and both Ville De Grace and Mise En Scene have been napped four times. The former will line up for Sir Michael Stoute and is the 6/4 favourite and will look to build on a fourth placed finish in the Middleton Stakes at York, and Dean Kilbryde of the East Anglian Daily Times is one of the four tipsters to fancy the Freemason Lodge inmate. Meanwhile, Mise En Scene is a 5/1 chance, at the time of writing, and has been napped by both Whistler from the Sunday Telegraph and The Duke from the Yorkshire Post.
Staying at Yarmouth, William Haggas and Tom Marquand team up together at 15:55 with the 11/8 favourite Lattam, who has won his first two starts, and that hat-trick seeker has caught the eye of a quartet of tipsters including Jason Heavey from The Star, and if he can continue to progress on the track then he looks very tough to beat.
Expert Eye from On The Nose returned to the top of the naps table yesterday with an 11/4 winner and the table-topper, who has a profit of £50.46, heads to Beverley's Flat meeting this afternoon and he has napped the Tim Easterby-trained Storm Fox, who is an eye-catching 8/1 chance in the 15:27 race. Fourth on debut at York, the daughter of Bungle Inthejungle is sure to improve on that effort this afternoon and has to be respected.
Garry Owen from the Daily Record will be looking to recapture top spot on Wednesday, and the tipster with a profit of £48.83 has veered to the National Hunt fixture at Kelso, and Owen has napped the Donald McCain-trained Latino Fling, who has won his last two outings and is currently a 7/2 chance to make it three wins on the bounce in the 16:15.
Returning to Beverley, The North from the Racing Post is looking to bang in a third winning nap on the spin, and that form tipster is backing the 11/1 chance Bay Breeze, who runs in the 16:02 race for the aforementioned Easterby and David Allan. A course and distance winner, he was last seen finishing down the field at York, but this could be a little easier today and he has to be respected.
