Favourite PANIC ATTACK looks to be on a too good to ignore mark in here for team Skelton and while you won't become a millionaire backing 11/4 favourites, I do think her claims are ultra solid in this race and against these rivals despite an ordinary run last time out. That can easily be explained away by the fact that the former David Pipe inmate was running over two miles, a trip too short for her, and over hurdles when she has shown she improves plenty for the bigger obstacles.
One suspects Skelton will have been working back from this race for some time with his mare who had to take a 22 month break due to injury, hence her two prep runs coming over hurdles. Those outings should've put her spot on for this and as a burnt backer last time, I noted the late drift which indicated she certainly would not be all out for that Newbury contest. I'd be amazed if she isn't all out for this so while Gavin Cromwell always warrants respect with his raiders coming over from Ireland, I'd be amazed if his Law Ella could give weight and a beating to a horse like Panic Attack provided she runs to the level she showed for Pipe over fences back in 2022/23.
Another Skelton runner in here Sacre Coeur can only run one way, like a scalded cat fired from a cannon, so she

This race has been rerouted from Sandown's frozen off card a fortnight ago and the case I made for COPPERHEAD remains true .As I said in that piece, this lad is a spring chicken in comparison to a lot of the usual runners we seen in veteran's chases and he has certainly seemed revitalised this season, notching a few smashing efforts. The world was thought of him as a novice hurdler and hopes were high for a successful career as a chaser, however the wheels came off somewhat in the latter years of Colin Tizzard's training career and the horse looked gone at the game.
All credit must go to Joe and the team for rejuvenating this lad as on his last few starts he has looked almost as good as ever, with both of his last two resulting in close seconds and his two runs prior to that resulting in victory. One of those second places was over course and distance and a repeat of that one suspects would be enough for glory here. Freddie Gingell's 3lb claim will be of massive assistance as he has gone up the weights a touch, but in the form he's showing I can't see anything in here that should trouble him too much.
The main danger may well be the old stager Sam Brown for Anthony Honeyball with a featherweight on his back given his rider Chad Bament takes ten pounds off, but I'd be confident Copperhead can get back into the winner's enclosure in a race his connections have not been shy about telling everyone they have been targeting since the later days of the summer. Even with Bament taking 10 off Sam Brown, he'll still be giving over half a stone to Copperhead and I'm not sure he'll manage that.
