ITV Racing Tips: Wimbledon Hawkeye looks a good call on day 1 of the July Festival

Newmarket's three-day July festival begins on Thursday afternoon with a seven-race offering including the Princess of Wales's Stakes.
The card also includes the Kingdom of Bahrain July Stakes, while the ITV Racing team will have a four-race programme from the course and we've got three tips for the terrestrial action.

Tip 1: Nightime Dancer (1.50 Newmarket)
Furthur (second) and Scandinavia (fifth) bring fair claims after their efforts in the Queen's Vase at Royal Ascot last month. Both were displaying improved form and could progress.
The Richard Hannon-trained NIGHTIME DANCER is a Ghaiyyath colt with only four runs behind him and plenty of scope for improvement.
The Southwell novice winner ran respectably in the Lingfield Derby Trial, finishing third behind Puppet Master, and ran on through the field in the Epsom Classic when others were folding. He's eased in grade and upped in trip now, which looks a wise move.
Tip 2: Maximized (2.25 Newmarket)
Four of this six-runner field for the Kingdom of Bahrain July Stakes are unbeaten. Brussels won impressively at the Curragh on his debut for Aidan O'Brien and joins Jel Pepper and Zavateri in being once-raced winners taking aim at a bigger prize.
The stiff finish appeared to find out Salisbury scorer Comical Point in the Norfolk Stakes, so going up in trip is a worry for the Andrew Balding-trained colt, while Do Or Do Not is the only non-winner but ran a fine race when second in the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot and has to be considered a player.
MAXIMIZED could be the answer for Charlie Appleby and William Buick. The Mehmas colt began with a smooth debut success over this trip at Haydock and then landed the Woodcote Stakes at Epsom during the Derby festival last month.
Behind him in second was subsequent Windsor Castle Stakes winner Havana Hurricane, while the seventh, Raakeb, wasn't far behind Do Or Do Not in the Coventry. He's taken to give his trainer a first win in this contest at his local track.

Tip 3: Wimbledon Hawkeye (3.35 Newmarket)
The feature one day is the Princess of Wales's Stakes and it's likely that Ghostwriter and Palladium, who finished third and fourth in the Hardwicke Stakes at Royal Ascot last time, will be popular. Godolphin duo Arabian Crown and El Cordobes are respected opponents, but the weight-for-age allowance could turn this in favour of WIMBLEDON HAWKEYE.
The James Owen-trained Kameko colt has shown up well in good three-year-old races so far this season and last month's fourth in the King Edward VII Stakes at Ascot was a good first try at this trip. He takes on his elders for the first time and could cause a surprise.
