13:32 Musselburgh - Betway Royal Mile Handicap

DESERT ANGEL has had a fair bit more racing than the others in this, but while others might obviously improve Desert Angel is solid and has fitness on his side after a recent run on the all weather at Wolverhampton 18 days ago. That was a good effort going down by a length on his first all weather start, his last handicap win at Newmarket has had a few boosts most notably by Mr Professor winning a listed race at Pontefract beating 99 rated Westover and a 94 rated 3rd. Interestingly Richard Hannon rarely comes to Musselburgh having only travelled here five times over the last five years winning three times a 60% win rate.

14:25 Newbury - Dubai Duty Free Stakes

Martyn Meade has had a good start to the season, already having three winners from his 13 runners and a further four places. ADELAISE was one of those winners when winning at Kempton on the all weather where she had learnt a lot since her debut settling much better and winning nicely. That was a good performance and although has to step up again here to get involved does have a fitness advantage over the field and a Probert/Meade combination that has a 33% win rate this season after two winners from six runners.

14:39 Musselburgh - Betway Holyrood Handicap

FINE WINE has been on the go all through the winter but has improved 18lbs in that time, winning four times and placing three times. He has one way of racing and that’s flat out through out and has a good draw in 10 to take advantage of. Trainer Scott Dixon is making the 490 mile round journey with just the one horse tomorrow and James Sullivan rides well for the yard winning on four of his 29 rides for a profit of £29 if backing them all with a £1 win stake. 

15:14 Musselburgh - Betway Queen's Cup

Mark Johnson has won this race for the last two years and from his three the most interesting would be STATE OF BLISS who had a run last week at Thirsk which blew away the cobwebs. He’s down to a mark just 1lb above his last win mark and had a gelding operation over the winter. Mark Johnson has a 19% win rate at Musselburgh after 27 winners from 144 runners over the last five years 

15:35 Newbury - Highclere Thoroughbred Racing 30th Anniversary Spring Cup Handicap

TRAIS FLUORS is interesting in this for the Johan combination that won the Lincoln for us, he is now 4lbs below his last win mark from last year at Sandown. This race could suit him down to the ground where loads of pace early on could set it up nicely for this well handicapped closer. There’s been five runnings of this to date and an eight-year-old won this is 2019 we’ve also had a winner from stall 16 in that time. Trais Flurors ran in this race last year too but off 14lbs higher where he was beaten 12 lengths on second start for the yard, much more competitive this time around and a eye catching price to boot.
