ITV Racing Tips: Three To Back on Busy Saturday

The ITV Racing cameras are at Sandown and Aintree for Tingle Creek and Becher Chase day respectively, and there are plenty of smashing races on the undercard worth a second look. Billy Grimshaw has picked out three he thinks could be value at the prices...

13:15 Sandown - Pertemps Network Handicap Hurdle
In the race after this I'm hopeful we see another exemplary round of jumping from hot favourite L'Eau du Sud for the Skelton team, who was brilliant on chase debut last time out. It'd be good to have a proper British Arkle contender, but before that we have a Pertemps qualifier race. DUBROVNIK HARRY is clearly not the most straightforward, with no wins in handicaps just yet and plenty of long absences for Harry Fry. Nevertheless, he has a solid record both around Sandown and fresh and with just eleven stone on his back, I think he'll go very close here.
I'd like to see Bryan Carver attempt to either make the running or at the very least sit in the top two or three horses as the race unfolds as the horse clearly operates better when ridden prominent than when held up, and the manner in which he travelled through the race over C&D when last seen indicated he was enjoying himself out there - at least to my eye. There are dangers aplenty here and it'd be no surprise to see West To The Bridge, favourite at the time of writing, in there with a shot for the Skelton team, however I think the main danger comes from Ditcheat in the shape of Henri The Second. He was unlucky last time out here when returning from injury and being blocked when making his run, eventually having to settle for fourth.
If he is able to get a more clear passage for Harry Cobden he could well be the chief threat, but I do like the chances of Dubrovnik Harry to kick things off on ITV with a winner.

Billy has penned a full big race preview for Aintree's feature race, the Becher Chase, which you can read below...
15:17 Aintree - BoyleSports Best Odds Guaranteed Handicap Hurdle
I'm going to take a bit of a chance that UNCLE BERT will be no worse for wear from his failed chasing career, with three very lacklustre runs indeed since he was sent over the bigger obstacles, and can bounce back to his best on his return to hurdles here. He was last seen jumping hurdles here at Aintree when not disgraced in fourth, but before that in March he ran a clear career best for team Twiston Davies at Bangor. That day he sat midfield and travelled really well into the race before pulling nicely clear, and although he could not kick on in the race after that was a hotter contest.
Over fences he has been attempting to make the running, with no success whatsoever, and at Aintree I'd rather Sam just buries him away in the pack and allows the horse to find his own way before hopefully reeling in whoever decides to take the bull by the horns. It's not the most confident bet of the day, but I do think a mark of 133 underestimates him and we have seen before when horses who are clearly hating jumping fences are returned to hurdles, they can put in a real wow of a performance as they are enjoying the job again.
The one I fear most is the clearly progressive and unexposed The Nagger Reidy, who comes over from Ireland and after a solid win was better than ever when only denied by another horse on the up at Tipperary. He is definitely the danger off 118 and with Jonathan Burke in the plate, but I rate Uncle Bert as a hurdler and at around 8/1 he rates a sporting each-way play.
