Today's Horse Racing Tips: Moon to bounce back at Wincanton

14:15 Wincanton

Rated in the mid-140s during the early part of his career, Colin Tizzard's WHITE MOON has plummeted down the handicap in recent times, as he's struggled to land any sort of blow on the racecourse. However, after finishing fourth at Wincanton last time out off a mark of 115, he's been dropped a further 5lbs and will take his chance off 110 on Thursday afternoon in the 14:15 contest. Tizzard is most certainly looking to unearth his talent and has reached for the cheekpieces today, but if he can find any sort of his early career form then he can outclass his rivals and duly notch his first win for over three years.

14:45 Wincanton

Once sent off a 6/1 shot for the Pertemps Final at the 2020 Cheltenham Festival, WELSH SAINT has lost his way somewhat since finishing 18th in that festival contest, but he will look to recapture his best form when he lines up in the 14:45 at Wincanton. Having tried fences when in the hands of Nicky Henderson, Welsh Saint has since reverted back to hurdles and is now trained by Sam Thomas, who reaches for the blinkers today. He's been dropped 5lbs for an average run at Haydock Park last time out, but now sitting on a mark of 123 he could well land a blow at decent odds.

15:15 Wincanton

Rebecca Curtis would've been buoyed by PENNYFORAPOUND's decent third placed finish at Taunton last time out, and the potentially progressive eight-year-old can continue on an upward curve this afternoon and land his first chase success in the 15:15 at Wincanton. He was beaten by Velasco in that Taunton event, and the pair lock horns again today, but Pennyforapound will be in receipt of 4lbs, so he can hopefully reverse that form in a trappy betting heat. The slight step up in trip should be another positive for Curtis' charge, who can win the 15:15 event.
