World Racing Guide: Tips at Gulfstream Park
With the racing in the UK, Ireland and surrounding regions cancelled due to the outbreak of coronavirus, we've taken a look at the meetings that are still going ahead around the world, and picked out our best bets...
Pakenham (Australia)
There's some action down in Victoria this morning, as Pakenham Park's eight race card comes to a conclusion. The seventh race on the card is due off at 10.30am, and the four-year-old Phoenix Global catches the eye. He made a winning return at Ballarat back in February, and although he was below par over this trip at Caulfield last time out, he looks worth forgiving that day considering he was slow away and had next to no luck in-running. He should strip fitter here with those two starts under his belt, and provided he arrives here fully tuned up, he has very strong form claims in this.
Another who catches the eye on the card is Final Man in the closing race on the card (11:00). The three-year-old has made a strong start to his campaign in two starts so far, winning over a furlong shorter on reappearance here in February, before finishing a close second at Sandown-Hillside last time out. His rider is able to claim a useful 2kg here, and he looks weighted to take this finale.

Pakenham Race 8 (11:00) - back Final Man at 11/5
Funabashi (Japan)
We've also got plenty of action in Japan at Funabashi, and Passing Through looks worth supporting in the penultimate race on the card (12:05). The four-year-old has some smart form to her name, winning a Grade 3 contest as a three-year-old and holding her own in a top level contest in her final outing of that campaign at Kyoto. She's been a model of steady progression in two starts so far this term, finishing in midfield in a Grade 3 contest on reappearance in January, before producing a solid effort to finish third last time out. She's very much shaping as though she's building up to something, and switched to a conditions race here, she's fancied to build on what she's shown so far and take this.

Gulfstream Park (United States)
We once again have racing at Gulfstream this evening, with a nine-race card that gets underway at 18:00. Several catch the eye, including Derby Day Zip in the third race on the card (19:00). The four-year-old has shown something to work on in his two starts at this track so far this year, and she has strong form claims now dropped in class here. Indeed, this race won't take an awful lot of winning, and she looks worth siding with to claim a second career victory.
Another who makes plenty of appeal is Suz, who runs in the fifth race on the card (20:03). The five-year-old has been holding her form well of late, twice finishing second before finishing fifth in a slightly stronger contest over course and distance last time out. Eased in grade this evening, she looks to have a fine chance of recording her first win since last May.
Finally, in the seventh race, it looks worth siding with the twice-raced New Hope Road (21:05). The four-year-old shaped well in the circumstances over course and distance last month, making plenty of late ground to finish third behind a runaway winner. Admittedly, she has something to find on form with some of the principals, but there ought to be more to come from her yet, and provided with a more aggressive ride here, she could well offer some value at around the 8/1 mark.
