Yarmouth Racecourse is sometimes referred to as Newmarket On Sea. It is used for flat racing and the course is a narrow oblong shaped track that is 1 mile and 5 furlongs in circumference.
As the courses is so close to Newmarket and the stables around there it means that Yarmouth is never short trainers pushing out their quality horses as part of their training regime, with some of the best two years old often on display here.
The course holds around 24 race meetings per year from April right through to October. The principal race here is the John Musker Fillies' Stakes which is a listed race held in September.
One the straight course there is a bias for high numbers particularly when part of a large field of runners.
