What is the Chesham Stakes?
The Chesham Stakes is a Listed event held on the fifth and final day of Royal Ascot and is run over seven furlongs for horses aged two years old.
Having been extended from six furlongs to seven furlongs in 1996, the Chesham Stakes has often been a race that throws up notable Classic pointers, and while it may lack the prestige of some of the other races taking place at Royal Ascot, it can throw up some really smart winners. Churchill (2016) and Pinatubo (2019) are two of the recent winners that have excelled in better company later in their careers having won here.

Ryan Moore was made to get tough in the saddle in the closing stages, but Point Lonsdale answered his urgings and went on to beat Reach For The Moon and Great Max, who finished second and third, respectively.
