Chepstow Major Races
Best known for its National Hunt fixtures the racecourse is set in the Wye Valley in Monmouthshire between Bristol and Cardiff. It is a two mile left-handed oval circuit which has a mile straight which is used for flat and national hunt racing.
Chepstow Racecourse is one of busiest racecourses in Wales (out of 3 that is, the others being Bangor on Dee and Ffos Las) hosting 29 fixtures each year, the highlight event is of course the Welsh Grand National which takes place annually just after Boxing Day. Horses that compete in the Welsh National also compete in the Aintree Grand National, the last horse to have won both was Silver Birch. Another key race at this course is the Tote Silver Trophy Handicap Hurdle.
There is no draw advantage on this track although the length of the course is stamina test for any horse.
