The Ladbrokes Trophy Handicap Chase is a three-mile handicap chase that takes place at Kempton Park on Adonis Juvenile Hurdle day and is open to horses aged five years or older. First run in 1949, it was rebranded as the Racing Post Chase and run under that guise for many years and always attracts a strong. competitive field
Now, sponsored by Ladbrokes bookmakers, the Ladbrokes Trophy Handicap Chase can still be used as a springboard to the Cheltenham Festival, while the Grand National could be another step available to those that run well in this event. Some of the biggest names in racing have landed glory in this event with Desert Orchid winning the 1990 contest, while Rough Quest won the 1996 race before going on to claim Aintree glory in the Grand National.
