The Brown Advisory Novices' Chase is a Grade 1 steeplechase run over 3 miles and 80 yards, and is the second race on day two of the Cheltenham Festival. Many greats over the years have taken this as the highlight of their novice chasing career before embarking on a quest for the Cheltenham Gold Cup the following season, and a few in Wednesday's race will be hoping to do the same.

Gerri Colombe is a warm order to stretch his unbeaten record to nine races in a row here, with the ground turning soft further adding to his chances. He has been tipped up by seven experts on-site but his main market rival The Real Whacker has six pundits weighing in behind him. Thyme Hill is just behind with five tips, so it is clear that the presspack are split on how they see this race panning out.

Thunder Rock is available to back at as big as 20/1 to claim this prize, and it seems the oddsmakers don't seem to think he stands much chance of overcoming his higher profile rivals at the top of the market.
