Horse Racing Tips: Skelton Horse Popular At Ayr

The Scottish Grand National festival kicks off at Ayr today, with plenty more good racing supporting that card on a busy Friday. Without further ado, let's take a dive into the state of play in the Naps table, an eye-catching stat and round up the racing news...

Friday's Most Popular Naps and Naps Table Leaders
There are plenty of horses that have multiple votes as the Nap from competition entrants, but one is head and shoulders above with six votes and that is CATCH HIM DERRY in the 14:20 at Ayr. The claims are staring us in the face, with his last start seeing him pull a long way clear with stablemate Gwennie May Boy, who has since bolted up at Aintree and was clearly supremely well handicapped. A repeat performance would see Catch Him Derry the one to beat in here and it is no surprise to see him being well backed today already.
At the top of the leaderboard, West Country waits for the 19:00 at Exeter for his best bet of the day and sides with DUNSTALL RAMBLER. Worryingly this horse has been drifting this morning, but on the form of his last run and with just a 4lb rise for his latest success, he looks the one to beat. On The Nose wait for the Bath's evening meeting at 19:15 for their Nap and are with SNAPCRACKLEPOP to claim glory He is winless in 13 and has been off six months, but does at least look on a fair mark.
Moorestyle has jumped up into third place in the Naps table and is with one at a huge price in the 14:12 at Newbury as his Nap. If HOLKHAM BAY wins, he could well be top come the close of play today. This horse has been a consistent type and has Saffie Osborne in the plate, which is always a plus, however he does look a bit outclassed here so his odds make sense.
- West Country - Dunstall Rambler - 19:00 Exeter - P&L: £24.13
- On The Nose - Snapcracklepop - 19:15 Bath - P&L: £3.71
- Moorestyle - Holkham Bay - 14:12 Newbury - P&L: £-2.93
How About Stat?
Patrick Mullins does not head to Ballinrobe just for the views. The top amateur rides at over 50% at the course and he has a decent book of rides today to further enhance that record. Check out more of the day's best statistics below...

Racing News Round-Up
- Paul Townend Makes Surprise Choice - In the antepost lists for the Scottish Grand National, Macdermott and Mr Incredible were the co favourites for Willie Mullins. His top jockey, however, has swerved both and chosen SPANISH HARLEM as his mount. As a result, he is the new favourite at Ayr.
- Haatem Wins Craven, Boosting Claims Of City Of Troy - Richard Hannon's charge won the Craven yesterday at Newmarket in what one suspects will end up a sub par renewal. Haatem was swept aside at two by the potential superstar that is CITY OF TROY.
- Mares' Novices' Hurdle Form Working Out Well - GOLDEN ACE won with ease yesterday at Cheltenham to confirm the strength of the Mares' Novices' Hurdle, a race in which the beaten Brighterdaysahead and Jade De Grugy have also come out and won since.
