Horse Racing Tips: Ayr Nap Proving Popular

With just two weeks to go until the Cheltenham Festival, the eyes of the racing world are moving ever closer to Prestbury Park. Nevertheless, there is still daily racing to get stuck into and today three tracks host a meeting. Plumpton, Ayr and Wolverhampton will be the homes of entertainment for racing fans today and here we bring you the tips, naps, stats and news...

Follow The Leaders
Spotlight are still topping the Naps table, although their lead has shrunk of late on the back of some iffy results. They are still over £5 clear, and wait for the very last race of the da at Wolverhampton for their Nap LAWMAKER in the 20:30 at Wolverhampton. He won very well on yard debut for Michael Bell last time out at Kempton and if in the same form should take all the beating here 23 days later, but he has been weak in the market since the odds appeared which is concerning.
West Country are second in the table and they also wait for the last race at a meeting, this time at Plumpton in the 17:05 for the best bet ONLY FOOLS. David Pipe's mare has been running consistently well this season, with a win and a third in her last two starts and she looks well weighted to go in again here against higher rated but perhaps less progressive rivals. In third place, The Punt have also opted to head to Plumpton for the best bet of the day in the 15:20, WINDANCE. Unlike the choices of the two ahead of them in the table, this is not the favourite for this race and is attractively priced at 7/1 with BetMGM at the time of writing. Anthony Honeyball's charge has been off almost a year, but if he returns with the same form shown last year when winning twice at Fontwell and Wincanton respectively. It looks a hot race and he will have to shake off any rust fast, but he definitely has ability.
- Spotlight - Lawmaker - 20:30 Wolverhampton - P&L: £14.38
- West Country - Only Fools - 17:05 Plumpton - P&L: £8.99
- The Punt - Windance - 15:20 Plumpton - P&L: £6.97
Monday's Most Popular Naps
There are a few horses that have been selected by multiple experts as the best bet of the day this Monday, but only one has received FIVE votes and that is BALLYCOOSE in the 15:05 at Ayr. Running in the colours of Isaac Suede and Simon Munir, retained jockey Daryl Jacob will get the leg up on the Stuart Crawford trained gelding and the front running seven year old looks to have a brilliant chance of following up last month's chase debut course win here. That day he led them all a merry dance from the front and a drop in trip for today's contest to two miles shouldn't prove a problem for the Nap of Templegate and four others.
Four other horses have been Napped by three experts apiece, with one coming for Daryl Jacob at Ayr once more in the shape of long odds on favourite Bleu D'Enfer in the 14:35. with Crawford once again the trainer. It could be a good afternoon for the team, then, unless in the 15:05 another of the thrice Napped horses in Traprain Law upsets Ballycoose for Lucinda Russell. She is also responsible for another of the horses with three Nap votes at Ayr, Fiveafterfour in the 16:45. He is second favourite behind the most Napped horse today, while Eire Street completes the quartet of thrice Napped horses in the 15:35 at Ayr.
How About Stat?
Ryan Mania is in fine form over the last fortnight, winning four of his last ten rides to top the strike-rate table with 40%. He is on two Sandy Thomson horses at Ayr today, both with a live chance...

Racing News Round-Up
- I Am Maximus Into National Favouritism - After beating convincingly the other Grand National market leader Vanillier in the Bobbyjo Chase at Fairyhouse on Saturday, I AM MAXIMUS is now favourite in some places for Aintree glory.
- Ferny Hollow Back With a Bang - After over 700 days off, it was great to see Ferny Hollow win easily on his return to the track on Sunday. Despite showing his remaining talent, trainer Willie Mullins is cautious about backing him up at Cheltenham so soon after a long lay-off. Will he run in the Champion Chase?
- Handicap Weights Out Tomorrow - The Cheltenham Festival is now just over a fortnight away and the handicap weights will be released tomorrow. This could be huge in pushing trainers to run certain horses in certain races over others they may right now be more well fancied for.
