Horse Racing Tips: Corner to hand O'Neill Catterick win on Monday
It's a quiet day's racing on Monday with a solitary National Hunt fixture taking place at Catterick, while there's a brace of all-weather fixtures from Kempton and Wolverhampton, with the latter finishing at 20:25 this evening. We preview all Monday's action here and pick out some of the most popular naps from our tipsters in the naps table...
Jonjo O'Neill's Lock's Corner has been running ultra-consistently this season, but has just struggled to get his head in front, but the Jackdaws Castle inmate has proven extremely popular with our racing tipsters today as three of them have napped the 3/1 shot for the 14:00 at Catterick. Both Ben Morgan from Racing Ahead and West Country from the Racing Post have napped the JP McManus-owned raider, who was last seen finishing second at Ludlow off a mark of 113 and off a 3lbs higher mark today he has to be a leading player for glory.
Taking on the O'Neill charge is the Lucinda Russell-trained Thereisnodoubt, who is currently 4/1, at the time of writing, and is the best bet of RP Ratings from the Racing Post, who is bidding for a fourth winning nap on the bounce. The Russell raider hasn't tasted victory since 2020, but is sure to improve for a fifth placed finish at Wetherby last time out, so has to be a leading contender in an intriguing betting heat.
Earlier on in the afternoon, the Donald McCain-trained Royal Mogul is a red-hot 4/7 favourite for the 13:30 contest at Catterick and is the most popular nap of the day with four tipsters napping the McCain raider, while later in the afternoon the Mark Walford-trained Johnson's Blue is a 6/5 favourite for the 15:00 race at Catterick and has been napped by three tipsters. The likes of Glendale from The Scotsman and Rob Wright from The Times have napped the Walford charge, who failed to land a five-timer at Aintree last time out, but today's race should be easier.
Alan King will unleash a leading fancy at Kempton Park this afternoon and the 15/8 favourite Nap Hand has been napped by three tipsters for the 16:45 race. The Barbury Castle inmate, who has been napped by Newsboy from the Daily Mirror, was a winner on debut, but has failed to kick on from that success, however, was last seen finishing second at the track, so has to be respected.
Moorestyle from the Daily Star Sunday sits at the top of the naps table heading into the new week and the tipster, who has a profit of £24.79, has napped the 7/1 chance Prince Abu, who runs in the 17:45 race at Kempton. The five-year-old course and distance winner was last seen finishing third at Southwell off a mark of 63 and runs off a 1lb lower mark today, so has to be a leading contender for victory.
Other eye-catching naps on Monday include the 9/4 shot Mafia Power, who runs in the 17:25 at Wolverhampton and is the best bet of Postdata from the Racing Post, who sits second in the naps table, and the 7/1 shot Astro Jakk, who runs in the 18:55 at Wolves. The best bet of Picksfromthepaddock from the Norwich Evening News, the Darryll Holland-trained course and distance winner will be hoping to kick on from a sixth placed finish at Chelmsford last time out.
