Horse Racing Tips: Two Backed Heavily At Haydock

Once again there is no Irish action to enjoy today, with just three British racecourses hosting a card. The racing comes from Market Rasen, Haydock and Southwell and here we analyse some of the most popular Naps, an eye-catching stat and bring you the latest racing news...

Brian Flanagan remains top of the table as the Naps competition draws toward its conclusion at Sandown, and he has gone for an interesting Haydock runner today as his best bet. DAMEOFTHECOTSWOLDS. Sam Twiston-Davies rides for father Nigel and the four year old has seemingly got back on track after a rocky winter. She grabbed a good third last time out in the Victor Ludorum and if she reproduces that level of form in here she should be the one to beat.
West Country are under £3 behind Brian Flanagan but if their Nap wins today, they will not take the top spot as EXCELERO is prohibitively priced at 1/2 at the time of writing. Jane Williams' juvenile was third to the high class Sir Gino last time out and looks the standout pick in here, for all he is priced like defeat is out of the question. In third place, Spotlight have sided with a Southwell chance in the 20:00, AMERICAN ROSE. She hasn't tasted victory for a while, however did run well off a break last time out and was doing her best work late. A repeat performance would see her there or thereabouts.
- Brian Flanagan - Dameofthecotswolds - 15:15 Haydock - P&L: £14.29
- West Country - Excelero - 14:30 Market Rasen - P&L: £11.48
- Spotlight - American Rose - 20:00 Southwell - P&L: £4.27
Wednesday's Most Popular Naps
Two horses today have been backed by four experts respectively, and the first to run is the shorter priced pick PRAIRIE WOLF at Haydock in the 14:45. Sue Smith's charge looks the one to beat in this four runner race and has some cracking form over fences, mainly a superb fourth at Cheltenham before winning last time out at Catterick. There are some talented rivals in here, but he is the one to beat with Nick Schofield in the plate.
Later on the card, at 15:50, the other horse backed by four experts takes their chance and is a much bigger price for Venetia Williams and Charlie Deutsch. ROBYNDZONE is a 6/1 chance with BetMGM at the time of writing and despite flopping last time out at Exeter, he has a good record and won as he liked over this C&D back in December on heavy going. While he needs to bounce back from his flop last time out, he has proven himself capable around here and could be a decent each-way play.
One other horse has been napped by three experts, the 1/2 poke EXCELERO in the Market Rasen 14:30/
How About Stat?

Racing News Round-Up
- Punchestown Trip Mooted For Constitution Hill - After missing Cheltenham and the chance to defend his Champion Hurdle title, Constitution Hill could be sent to take on State Man in his own backyard at Punchestown for the 2m showpiece there. We hope to see the match as it should be a blockbuster!
- Money Continues To Come For Corach - Following his fantastic third in the Gold Cup, Corach Rambler was snipped into 6/1 to retain the Grand National. The support has not stopped and he is now a best price 5/1 for Aintree glory in the second consecutive year.
- Galopin Given Glorious Reception - For the second year in a row, Galopin Des Champs was given a heroes welcome on his homecoming following winning the 2024 Cheltenham Gold Cup. Brilliant scenes despite the weather!
