Irish 2000 Guineas Runners: Eight declared for the Curragh Classic

The first Irish classic of the season - the Irish 2000 Guineas - takes place on Saturday and eight horses have been declared. Here we take a look at the runners, riders, favourites and odds for the 1 mile Group 1 race...
Rosallion heads the betting at odds of 5/4 for the Richard Hannon stable. The English 2000 Guineas runner-up is the highest rated in the field and is a Group 1 winner already having won the Prix Jean Luc Lagardere at Longchamp on his final start last season. Sean Levey takes the ride.
Richard Hannon also saddles Haatem - a 7/1 chance - in the race. He ran a fine race at 16/1 to finish third (one place behind Roallion) in the Newmarket 2000 Guineas. He's already got a few wins to his name and has the mercurial Jamie Spencer in the saddle.

Aiden O'Brien has three entered: River Tiber, Unquestionable and Mountain Bear. River Tiber, the current second favourite at 11/4, won the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot and Unquestionable (6/1) won the Juvenile Turf on Breeders Cup night. Jockey arrangements are yet to be confirmed.
The O'Brien contingent doesn't end there though with Aiden's son, Joseph, entering Atlantic Coast - a 50/1 outsider.
The field is completed by Bright Stripes (50/1) for Andy Oliver and Billy Lee and Take Me To Church (66/1) for Jack Davison and Ronan Whelan.
