ITV Racing Tips: Raceolly's six bets from Newbury and Market Rasen

Our top tipster Raceolly is back tackling the ITV races and he has six bets at Newbury and Market Rasen, as he looks to point you in the right direction of a winner or two...
13:15 Newbury - bet365 EBF Novice Stakes
HUNKPAPA is interesting in this on paper being related to plenty of winners and with trainer Brian Meehan having won this race previously. Brian Meehan has also had a good season with his two-year-olds boasting a 27% win rate after three winners and two places from his 11 runners. One of those three wins was a debutant winner and also a group winner and a group place. Interesting that trainer who’s having a good season with two-year-olds comes here with this one for debut.

14:21 Newbury - Highclere Castle Gin Cup Stakes
AURIFEROUS has been consistently running well this season and in April took his course form to 22 finishing 2nd to one that won again after and went up 15lbs in the handicap. Andrew Balding is always worth a look when running one at Newbury and especially in July where he seems to so particularly well, mostly showing a profit for £1 win stake over the years. Only being 2lbs higher than course and distance 2nd in April is eye catching and Balding is 22% with his stayers this year.

14:41 Market Rasen - Unibet 15 To Go Summer Handicap Hurdle
There’s a case to be made for Toronto in this but PISGAH PIKE would be my pick. Very promising over hurdles in 2020 including a second in a Listed race here putting his course form at 22. Now 1lb below the mark he last ran off over hurdles and 11lb below the mark he was competing off over fences last season. Excuses last time after a 235 day break and wind surgery and will be a lot sharper for that here. First time cheekpieces are added to the usual tongue tie now and could also bring out further improvement now fitter and handicapped to go close.

14:56 Newbury - bet365 Hackwood Stakes
MAN OF PROMISE returned to the UK when well fancied in the King's Stand when dropping to five furlongs last month but that didn’t go to plan and now he drops in grade and upped back to six furlongs. Charlie Appleby had a 32% win rate here at Newbury and this one is very interesting on his 6 furlong form in Meydan which included winning a Group 3 and placing in a Group 1 when more was expected still going off odds on.

15:14 Market Rasen - Unibet Summer Plate Handicap Chase
AL ROC is a huge price here on his recent course and distance win where he couldn’t be caught after a bold front running display. 5lb rise for that easy seven length win is fair and that was his 10th chase win for which he started here off a mark of 158. Current mark of 130 still well within his reach especially if getting in to a good rhythm from the front. The Pipes have won this a few times over the years and last had a runner in 2019 where they sent two to post and both placed, in fact since 2010 they’ve only had one runner miss the places.

15:30 Newbury - Weatherbys Super Sprint Stakes
Richard Hannon is always worth watching in this but he’s made it tough by running a army. Havana Grey has had an amazing start to his sire career boasting a 20% strike rate and his runner UNION COURT went in to Royal Ascot unbeaten but she unfortunately blew the start that day, still travelled the best for a long way and finished six lengths off the win in the end despite the impossible task. That was extremely eye-catching and you’d have to think a better start would have put her right in the mix with now 104 rated Little Big Bear who’s odds on for a Group 3 tomorrow. That Ascot race has worked out really well and likely a better start here will put her bang in the mix.
