ITV Racing Tips: Check out our best bets from the Racing League at Newcastle

We've reached the final week of the Racing League which will take centre stage at Newcastle in front of the ITV racing cameras on Thursday evening, and London & The South will be attempting to maintain their lead at the top of the table. While the team result will unfold at the north east track, our man Steve Chambers has focused his attentions on finding some winners and he picks out his best bets here...

Clive Cox's TREGONY has been a real revelation in the Racing League this season, as the four-year-old daughter of New Bay has notched up two wins in the event so far, and she will look to land the hat-trick when she goes for glory in the 18:15 event. Wins at Lingfield and Newcastle have seen her sparkle in the format, and she will return to the north east to try and land back-to-back wins at the track, and she's an eye-catching 6/1, at the time of writing, to prevail.
A three-quarters of a length winner over Geremia last time out, she will need to down that rival here, while the in-form Eeetee is another leading contender here, but Tregony has only been upped 3lbs for that recent course and distance success, so off a mark of 86 she has to be given the utmost respect and she can kick off the evening on a winning note.

Charlie Fellowes trained Fresh Hope to glory at Newcastle in the Racing League last month, and that charge is bidding for more success on Thursday, while another brace of last-time-out winners that warrant respect are Out From Under and Desert Land, who both sit prominently in the market. However, the one that catches the eye is the Kevin Philippart De Foy's STREET KID, who was just touched off last time out at Lingfield in the Racing League, and he can go one better on Thursday.
Around the 8/1 mark, at the time of writing, the four-year-old will need to defy a 2lb rise, which is far from ideal, but he was caught in the shadow of the post in that last effort and that was his first run of the season. He will have the burden of top weight in today's event, but he's sure to strip fitter for that late seasonal reappearance, and while he will need to kick on from that comeback he is one of the class angles of the race and he can down some in-form rivals in a hugely competitive contest.

Roger Varian's Lir Speciale won impressively at Windsor last time out and that progressive three-year-old is well fancied to claim more Racing League success on Thursday and is the current market leader of the 20:15 race. But, it could be a horse that finished third that day that could outrun its lofty odds as the 16/1 chance SEVEN BROTHERS can run a huge race for Scott Dixon and Pat Cosgrave.
The four-year-old son of Slade Power was beaten just over half-a-length that day by Lir Speciale when giving 4lbs away to the Varian charge, but he will only give 1lb away in Thursday's event, so he's handicapped eye-catchingly well to run a big race against the jolly and at double-figured odds he's an outstanding each-way bet. He will tackle the Tapeta for the first time, so he will need to deal with a new surface, but he has been victorious off Thursday's mark of 84 before, so he has to be a huge player in what is another devilishly difficult conundrum for punters.

20:45 Newcastle - William Hill Pick Your Places Racing League Race Forty-Two
Paul & Oliver Cole's MANY A STAR has been a real model of consistency over the last few months and has notched up a win and two second placed finishes in his last three starts, and the five-year-old can continue that great form on Thursday by landing victory in the final race of the day at Newcastle at 20:45.
A 6/1 second favourite at the moment, the son of Staspangledbanner was last seen finishing a decent second to Whenthedealinsdone at Ascot last time out, and while he was no match for that hugely impressive sprinter, he will find his task at Newcastle significantly easier, albeit with a tough field going to the 5f start. He's been given a 1lb rise by the handicapper for that Ascot run, but having won off 85 earlier this season then a mark of 88 isn't too harsh on him. Likely to track the leaders through the early stages, Daniel Muscutt will want to unleash him at the business end of the race and once hitting the front he will look to hold on from the fast finishers.
