Today's Horse Racing Tips: Five to back at York on Saturday

14:35 – 7f JCB Handicap (Class 2)

TROUBADOR (NAP - 1 point win bet at 33/1) has uninspiring recent form figures of 0205000 but a case can be made for him bouncing back to form and running well here at a big price. He is expected to have come on for his seasonal reappearance two weeks ago given that he won second time out in 2019 and was runner up on his second start last year. He also has a good record over this course and distance with a win and a neck defeat from his three previous runs here. His handicap mark continues to drop and this is Paul Mulrennan’s only ride of the day.

15:40 – 6f Pavers Foundation Catherine Memorial Sprint Handicap (Heritage Handicap) (Class 2)

INTERNATIONALDREAM (0.5 point each way bet at 28/1) had excuses for his heavy defeat at this course last time out as it came in Listed company over five furlongs. The drop back in to a handicap and step back up to six furlongs should really suit this son of Acclamation. Ignoring his last run and his racecourse debut, Richard Fahey’s colt has finished in the first three places in all seven other starts with two of those resulting in victories.

17:25 – 6f Sky Bet Handicap (Class 4)

A chance is taken on three horses for the final race on the card. DEVIL’S ANGEL (0.5 point win bet at 33/1) is yet to win in six starts on turf but comes here off the back of four good runs on the All Weather at Newcastle. He went close at Redcar on his last start in this sphere back in September and was pulled out due to soft ground at Ascot last month. Megan Nicholls knows the horse well and he remains open to further improvement.

READY FREDDIE GO (0.5 point win bet at 28/1) is an improving three-year-old sprinter and has the advantage of an 8lb weight-for-age allowance. Ground conditions look ideal today and he is worth another try over the six-furlong trip.

LADY NECTAR (0.5 point win bet at 10/1) has been in good form of late and followed her win at Thirsk with a solid placed effort on softer ground at Hamilton last time out. She lines up off the same handicap mark today and is well drawn in stall 1.
