Today's Racing Tips: Allmankind to rein at Aintree
Definite Plan (advised at 7/1) stayed on well to win at Cheltenham yesterday, and later in the afternoon, Boundless Power (NAP at 5/1) dead heated in the sprint handicap at Doncaster. He looked the winner for much of the race but got joined on the line by Copper Knight. In between those two, my 11/1 each way selection (Mohi) missed out on a place by just a nose!
There is one bet for today’s racing at Aintree.
Aintree Tip
15:00 – 2m4f Jewson Monet’s Garden Old Roan Limited Handicap Chase (Grade 2)
A recent spin over hurdles at Chepstow will have served as a perfect preparation for ALLMANKIND (NAP – 1 point win bet at 7/2), who is a strong fancy to land this prestigious early season contest. That was a fine reappearance run off a big weight and it marked his first start since undergoing a wind operation. A Grade 1-winning hurdler as a juvenile, he enjoyed a fine novice chase season by winning the Grade 1 Henry VIII Novice Chase at Sandown as well as two Grade 2 races. He can be forgiven his defeat in the Arkle Chase at the Cheltenham Festival as he faced an incredibly tricky task against the superstar Shishkin. He won on his only previous start over the 2m4f distance and should encounter optimum ground conditions at Aintree today. There is every chance that Champion Jockey Harry Skelton will be able to dominate the small field on board this confirmed front-runner. Killer Clown rates as the biggest danger and last year’s winner Nuts Well should go well again.
