When Is The 2022 Cheltenham Festival?

One of the highlights on the sporting calendar is The Cheltenham Festival, and the 2022 extravaganza will yet again attract the premier National Hunt horses from the UK & Ireland, but when does the 'Greatest Show On Turf' actually take place?
Well, in 2022 the action all kicks off on Tuesday 15th March and it goes right through until Friday 18th March, as there will be 28 races at Cheltenham racecourse across four spectacular days of equine action.
The highlight on day one of the meeting will be the Champion Hurdle, where reigning champion Honeysuckle will be a hot favourite to retain her crown, while on day two Nicky Henderson's Shishkin and the Willie Mullins-trained Energumene will lock horns in the Queen Mother Champion Chase.
Day three on March 17 will see not only the Grade 1 Stayers' Hurdle, but the Grade 1 Ryanair Chase will also serve up a thrilling contest as last year's emphatic winner Allaho aims to win the 2m 5f contest for the second year on the bounce.
Finally, the blue riband event takes place on the final day (March 18) as the Cheltenham Gold Cup will see the premier staying chasers do battle, and last season's victor Minella Indo will aim to emulate the mighty Best Mate and Al Boum Photo by winning back-to-back Gold Cups.
Throughout the four day jumping extravaganza, there will be a host of thrills and spills and here at Horseracing.net, we will keep you abreast of all the action with our daily racecards, tips, odds and results available all for free, so make sure you bookmark us for all the need-to-know Cheltenham information.
