The Gimcrack Stakes is a Group 2 event open to two-year-old colts and geldings and is run over 6f during York's Ebor Festival in August. One of the highlights of the meeting on the Knavesmire, the Gimcrack can sometimes unearth potential 2000 Guineas contenders for the following season, while some top sprinters have won this race before going on to bigger and better things.
