Making up part of the Ebor Festival, the Yorkshire Oaks is run over one mile, three furlongs and 188 yards and is one of the Flat highlights in the female division. About the Yorkshire Oaks?
The Yorkshire Oaks is a Group 1 race run at York and is one of the main events during the Ebor Festival. Contested by some star fillies and mares, the race is one of the summer showpiece races, and it can often see contenders that run at Royal Ascot earlier in the season doing battle in what is always a competitive event on the Knavesmire.
First run in 1849, the Yorkshire Oaks has been won by some star performers down the years with dual Arc winner Enable being one of the most notable winners as the John Gosden-trained starlet won the race in both 2017 and 2019, and she won this race in 2017 before going on to be victorious in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe.
Aidan O'Brien's Warm Heart got the better of Free Wind in a thrilling renewal of the Group 1 Yorkshire Oaks in 2023.
