About the Albany Stakes
The Albany Stakes is a Group Three race for two-year-old fillies and takes place on day four of Royal Ascot.
First run in 2002, the Albany Stakes is a relatively new race on the Royal Ascot schedule, but is a contest that has grown in stature over the last couple of decades and it can be a race that throws up a potential Classic contender for the following season. Having been promoted to its current status in 2005, the Albany Stakes could continue to blossom on the Flat calendar as it continues to attract some smart youngsters.
Donnacha O'Brien's Porta Fortuna was a classy winner of the 2023 renewal as the 5/1 shot beat Matrika impressively.
