Shloer Chase Tips
The 2026 Shloer Chase is due off at 14:20 on Friday 13 November, the opening day of Cheltenham's November Meeting. We will add our tip once the final field is confirmed in the week of the race.
Last season's winner L'Eau Du Sud sets the standard on form after beating the dual winner Jonbon by 15 lengths, but the shape of the race will depend on which of the leading two-mile chasers start their campaigns here.
About the Shloer Chase
The Shloer Chase is a Grade 2 chase over about two miles (1m 7f 199y) on the Old Course, registered as the Cheltenham Chase. First run in 2009, it is the first major two-mile chase of the season at Cheltenham and an early pointer towards the Champion Chase at the Cheltenham Festival.
Fox Norton (2016 and 2017), Nube Negra (2021 and 2022) and Jonbon (2023 and 2024) have all won the race twice in recent years. Every race at the November Meeting is shown live on Racing TV.
What Happened In The 2025 Shloer Chase?
Nicky Henderson's Jonbon was the 5/6 favourite to win a third consecutive Shloer Chase, but he was easily beaten by L'EAU DU SUD for Dan and Harry Skelton.
The 100/30 shot went on at the eighth fence and won by 15 lengths in a six-runner field on soft ground, with Matata third.
